Why should you donate to the Watts PTA?

At Watts, the PTA is the single largest source of discretionary funding for supplies, technology, enrichment and additional professional development opportunities, by far. By giving to the PTA, each dollar can be leveraged to provide needed resources not just for one classroom, but for the whole school.

The PTA contributes $85 per child per year to the school. The PTA's funding pays for classroom materials, field trips, teacher training and certifications, educational support, family events, Hispanic and Black History Month celebrations, playground improvements, and more! Every single request made by a teacher or staff member was able to be funded last year thanks to the PTA.

 Examples of what your PTA donation could support

  • Field trip for one classroom to Carolina Theater - $150

  • Scholastic News for one classroom - $1780 for the school

  • Teacher supply funds for one teacher - $200

  • Teacher appreciation events - $1000

  • Teacher board certification - $1900

How you can contribute

Direct giving

  • Contribute to our Annual Fund by donating directly to the PTA. The Annual Fund is our biggest fundraiser, every dollar helps, going directly to ongoing efforts. Please consider making a one-time or recurring donation. You can donate online to the 2024-2025 Annual Appeal via Givebacks or send checks to school in your child’s folder, drop off at the office, or via mail - just ensure the checks note “Annual Fund” and are made out to “George Watts PTA”.

  • Buy a T-shirt. T-shirts, sweatshirts, and stickers are available. Click on the Givebacks store link to buy some school gear!

Help the Watts PTA for FREE

  • Link your Harris Teeter Vic card to George Watts. Set your Harris Teeter VIC card to George Watts Elementary School (#4623) EVERY YEAR and earn our school a percentage of every purchase you make every time you shop! Ask your cashier for help on how to do this in the store, or do it online.
