Salad Days and Harvest Feast in the Edible Garden
It’s harvest time in the garden! And we have TWO fabulous food events for students happening this month.
Not only is this a great chance to introduce some delicious, healthful foods to students, but it also allows them make the connection between what we grow and what we eat.
I could use a few helping hands in the garden during these times. Would you please consider volunteering your time to help make these events a success? Bonus: You get to taste the vegetables your children have grown! If interested, please email me (alice.b@earthlink.net).

Monday, November 23

A hands-on food event with school nutritionist Becca Wright. We’ll have several stations set up for kids to make veggie dips, salads, salad dressings and radish salsa. They can create their own dishes, taste some of the fresh veggies from the garden, AND get a health/wellness lesson from Becca.

Fall Harvest Feast!
Monday, November 30
11 am – 3:30 pm
Local chef Mark Day joins us in the garden to whip up some wonderful, healthful dishes using the vegetables we’ve grown this fall. Kids can help harvest the vegetables. We can all feel rewarded for the work done in planting and caring for the garden by tasting some extraordinary flavors — together.
