George Watts Receives Generous Gym Equipment Donation

George Watts first grader Raquel Stearns grabs the new gorilla hold at the top of the bouldering wall.
Last week, the bouldering wall in the in the George Watts gymnasium was graced by new handholds from Three Ball Climbing of Phoenix, Arizona.
The old alphabet holds looked good, but they were hard to grip for many kids. Three Ball Climbing’s owner Steve Dison graciously donated new holds that are shaped for kids’ hands and are easier to grasp, so more of Coach Brennan’s students can enjoy the bouldering wall. The donation included a new set of better-designed alphabet holds, plus a giant gorilla hold, perfect for the top of the wall, all valued at over $200. The old alphabet letters will still be used – they make excellent footholds.
“The kids are loving the wall!” says Coach B.
Mr. Dison is committed to growing his business with generosity – the shipment to George Watts went out right behind a donation to a school for the blind, and he has also donated holds to soldiers in Iraq who have built their own plywood bouldering walls.
Thank you to Three Ball Climbing for the generous donation, to George Watts parent Carl Stearns who took the initiative to contact Mr. Dison to ask for help in improving our school, and to Coach B and Mr. Stearns for installing the new holds.

Great story!
How wonderful. Thanks to Carl for making this happen and to Mr Dison for his generous donation!
This is so great. It’s inspiring how many thoughtful people we have within the Watts community. What an amazing act of generosity on the part of Mr. Dison!
Awesome! Thanks to all that made it happen.
