Tuesday March 24 – Dine Out for Kids Night
Tuesday, March 24, is “Dine Out for Kids Night.” Participating restaurants will donate a portion of their sales to “Communities in Schools of Durham” – a local organization that works to prevent school drop-out in Durham public schools.
According to their web site (www.cisdurham.org), “Communities in Schools takes a holistic approach to drop-out prevention by addressing the physical, emotional, social and academic needs of children and families through a wide range of tutoring, counseling and mentoring programs; cultural and community service activities; and advisement for post-secondary education, financial aid, scholarships and career services.”
