Mondays @ the Media Center

Every Monday after school, 3:30 to 7 pm, the Media Center stays open for the whole school community to use.  The open and relaxed atmosphere of “Mondays @ the Media Center” or M@MC allows kids and parents to take advantage of all the resources the Media Center has to offer. Students can learn how to use the online library catalog.  They can read and check out books. They can visit their favorite educational web sites on the computers.  Ms. Ham and other teachers are on duty to help students with homework.  The Media Center is also a comfortable gathering space for school groups or committee meetings.

M@MC began in September 2007 and continued even during the summer break, to help students keep up with their reading while families escaped the heat.

Policy reminders:

• Books are due 1 week after check out.
• Parents or caregivers must accompany their students to M@MC.

Cada lunes después de la escuela, de las 3:30 hasta las 7:00 pm, el Media Center (Centro de medios) queda abierto para el uso de toda la comunidad de la escuela.  El ambiente abierto y relajado de los “lunes en el Media Center,” o “M@MC” permite a los niños y sus padres aprovecharse de todos los recursos del centro. Los estudiantes pueden aprender a usar el catálago de la biblioteca en la Red.  Pueden leer libros y sacarlos para llevar a casa.  Pueden visitar sus enlaces educativos favoritos en las computardoras.  La Sra. Ham y otros maestros están allí para ayudar a los estudiantes con su tarea.  El centro de medios tambié es un lugar agradable para reuniones de grupos escolares o comités.

M@MC empezó en septiembre 2007 y ha continuado aún durante las vacaciones de verano, para ayudar a los estudiantes a mantener sus habilidades de lectura mientras sus familias evitaban el calor.

Algunas reglas:

• Hay que devolver los libros 1 semana después de llevarlas a casa.
• Los padres (u otros adultos) deben acompañar a sus estudiantes al M@MC
