Volunteers Needed for Fun Jobs (Duke Basketball!)
It’s easy, it’s fun, and it’ll earn big money for George Watts:
It’s Duke Basketball!
George Watts parents, staff and friends have volunteered and worked the concession stands at Duke Basketball games for 3 years now through S.O.S., earning our school about $4,000 a year.
S.O.S. stands for “Support Our Schools.” It’s an organization that brings together groups of volunteers from schools, like George Watts, to work the concession stand at the home games of Duke football and basketball. A portion of the concession sales goes directly to the school’s PTA.

What will you do? You’ll sell sodas, popcorn, pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, and candy. Or you may get to work the ice cream stand, a new job this year.
How much money will the school get? 10% of the net proceeds for regular food stands, 18% for the ice cream stand.
Can kids help? If you are 13 or older, you are old enough to work!
Making it happen takes just a little effort from each volunteer, but we need LOTS of you! There are so many games, there’s bound to be one that suits your schedule. Please give S.O.S. a try! Contact Angie Douglas, S.O.S. Chair, at 479-2015 or angiedouglas@nc.rr.com, to sign up for a game or two!
