Montessori Education in Middle School

As Donna Rewalt highlighted at the September 8 PTA meeting, Durham has a Montessori middle school in the works. Durham County and the Durham School Board both approved a plan to buy the Lakewood YMCA, located at 2119 Chapel Hill Road, and convert part of it into a 300-student Montessori middle school to open in a few years.  This means that Watts students will soon have an option for continuing their Montessori education beyond the fifth grade.
